Background

Kecia Bertermann is a systems change evaluator and learning specialist with expertise in building cohesive learning cultures for complex problem-solving. Kecia has over 20 years of experience in philanthropy, brand-led communication and non-profit implementation.

She brings multi-faceted lenses to her work, with involvement in digital MEL, social change, policy & advocacy, communications, gender and public health. She believes that we strengthen our work when we actively learn from other sectors, and she specializes in bringing diverse stakeholders together to share challenging agendas and stimulate new learning.

Kecia’s main areas of focus are 1) helping teams to 'demystify' systems change (and impact) and apply tools in practical ways to evaluation and learning, and 2) applying current understanding of brain science to learning and development.

At the School of System Change

Kecia is a contributor on the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Learning & Practice Series in 2024/2025.

"We are at an inflection point in our understanding of how we can conceptualize measurement of systems change, and we have new momentum in this field for developing new paradigms for the learning in the midst of incredibly fast-paced change."
